True salvation is faith in Christ alone..

Different churches believe different things about eternal salvation. Some believe “once saved always saved”, others believe that one can fall so far back into sin that they can actually lose their salvation. What you believe is between you and God, but here is something you do need to know about salvation that does pertain to everyone, no matter what side of that fence you live on. Salvation in this life, while you are still in your human body, does not protect you from temptation. From the moment you receive Christ as your savior you become an enemy of Satan, and he is about to do whatever he can to make you as miserable as possible in this life. Whether he succeeds at his new found mission is totally up to you and how you respond to the temptation of sin. He will hit you in three main ways. The lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. If you have children he will try to corrupt them, if you are married he will try to destroy your marriage, if you feel as though your life is full of blessings he will try to still your joy will turmoil and hardship. He will do whatever he can to take away your joy and hope. There is only one thing that he cannot even attempt to touch and that is the love Christ has for you and your relationship with Him. That relationship is totally in your control to hold on to and draw closer to, or pull away from. The bond between you and Christ is off limits. And to be honest the only way anything else becomes fair game for Satan is when you give in to temptation and open a door to your own demise. Again when you are tempted with the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, or the pride of life. When you fail in one of these areas and open a door, Satan will step through it and bring as much pain on you as he possibly can. Now, does this mean you’ve lost your salvation? No, I don’t think so, but it does mean that God will allow you to suffer the consequences of your weekness to sin. So what does all this mean? It means don’t open the doors for Satan to step through, and if you do fall for his temptation be quick to repent and shut the door again so that you do not suffer the consequences of your own failures. Don’t fall for temptations of lust and pride. Your hope is not in the things you have in this life, and success is not measured in how much pleasure or entertainment of your flesh you experience in this life. Your hope is in one thing and one thing alone, your redeemer Christ Jesus, and your relationship with Him. If He is the center of your hope then your focus will always be on pleasing your Heavenly Father and not your own flesh.

May the eternal Father, creator of all that is, bless you and keep you in His eternal light, and may He light the way before you, and may you be redeemed by the blood of His Son who is at His right hand, for ever and ever, Amen
